Abstract

Tersedak (choking) merupakan kondisi gawat darurat yang dapat mengancam jiwa apabila tidak segera ditangani dengan cepat dan tepat. Remaja termasuk kelompok usia yang rentan mengalami tersedak baik di rumah maupun di sekolah, sehingga diperlukan keterampilan dasar pertolongan pertama. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan dan keterampilan remaja dalam melakukan pertolongan pertama pada kasus choking. Kegiatan dilaksanakan di SMAN 5 Banda Aceh melalui penyuluhan, demonstrasi, dan praktik langsung teknik Heimlich maneuver yang dipandu oleh tim pelaksana. Observasi dilakukan untuk menilai partisipasi dan kemampuan peserta dalam melakukan tindakan sesuai prosedur. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa pelatihan berjalan dengan baik dan mendapat respon positif dari peserta. Siswa mampu memahami tanda dan gejala choking serta mempraktikkan teknik pertolongan dengan benar. Selain itu, pelatihan juga meningkatkan rasa percaya diri siswa dalam memberikan pertolongan pertama pada situasi darurat. Kegiatan ini terbukti efektif dalam meningkatkan kesiapsiagaan remaja menghadapi kasus choking dan dapat menjadi model edukasi praktis di lingkungan sekolah.
