Peningkatan Pemahaman dan Keterampilan Siswa SMK melalui Pelatihan Sistem PLTS

Pemanfaatan energi terbarukan, khususnya energi matahari, menjadi salah satu solusi dalam menghadapi keterbatasan energi fosil dan meningkatnya kebutuhan energi listrik. Namun, pemahaman siswa Sekolah Menengah Kejuruan (SMK Negeri 1 Gorontalo Utara) terhadap sistem Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya (PLTS) dan proses konversi energi masih terbatas. Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman dan keterampilan siswa dalam konversi energi matahari menjadi listrik arus searah (DC) serta konversi listrik DC menjadi arus bolak – balik (AC). Metode yang digunakan meliputi ceramah interaktif, demonstrasi dan praktik langsung dengan melibatkan 13 siswa dan guru. Evaluasi dilakukan melalui pre-test dan post-test. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan bahwa nilai rata – rata pre-test sebesar 48.08% meningkat menjadi 76,9%, dengan peningkatan sebesar 28.85 point atau sebesar 60.2%. siswa juga mengalami peningkatan keterampilan dalam merangkai sistem PLTS dan mengoperasikan inverter. Dengan demikian, kegiatan ini efektif dalam meningkatkan kompetensi siswa serta mendukung pembelajaran berbasis praktik di bidang energi terbarukan.
