Edukasi Periksa Urine Sendiri (PURI) sebagai upaya Pencegahan Dehidrasi pada Lansia di Desa Leboto Kecamatan Kwandang

Abstract

Air merupakan nutrisi terpenting dalam tubuh untuk menjaga homeostasis dan berbagai fungsi fisiologis lainnya. Akan tetapi, seiring bertambahnya usia, total body water dalam tubuh berkurang sehingga menurunkan fungsi berbagai sistem tubuh. Pada usia 70 tahun terjadi penurunan sekitar 40% total body water, disertai penurunan respons haus dan fungsi vasopresin yang menyebabkan lansia lebih rentan mengalami dehidrasi. Dampak dehidrasi dapat menyebabkan gangguan konsentrasi, daya ingat, dan menurunkan produktivitas. Oleh karena itu, diperlukan pemahaman mengenai pentingnya mencukupi kebutuhan cairan tubuh. Urine Colour Chart merupakan salah satu metode untuk menilai status hidrasi dengan mengamati warna urine. PURI (Periksa Urine Sendiri) merupakan metode yang relatif murah dan mudah dilakukan. Metode yang digunakan adalah ceramah, diskusi interaktif, serta intervensi dengan pre-test dan post-test. Kegiatan diikuti oleh 30 orang lansia yang didampingi oleh 1 orang perawat. Edukasi kesehatan mengenai penggunaan Urine Colour Chart diharapkan dapat meningkatkan pemahaman lansia dalam mengenali tanda-tanda dehidrasi dan mendorong upaya pencegahan dehidrasi secara mandiri.
