Abstract

Pemanfaatan tanaman pekarangan sebagai sumber daya lokal dapat menjadi bagian dari edukasi masyarakat mengenai alternatif bahan pendukung pengendalian nyamuk. Pengamatan awal di RT 2 RW 2 Desa Patoman, Kecamatan Pagelaran, Kabupaten Pringsewu, menunjukkan bahwa sejumlah tanaman dan bahan seperti serai, lidah buaya, jeruk, kayu manis, dan selasih telah tersedia atau dikenal masyarakat, tetapi pemanfaatannya masih terutama sebagai bumbu, minuman, tanaman pekarangan, perawatan sederhana, atau belum dimanfaatkan lebih lanjut. Kegiatan Pengabdian kepada Masyarakat ini bertujuan menyosialisasikan pemanfaatan Tanaman Obat Keluarga (TOGA) dan bahan lokal sebagai bahan potensial pendukung antinyamuk alami secara rasional dan aman. Kegiatan dilaksanakan melalui koordinasi mitra, pengamatan terhadap 7 pekarangan warga, penyusunan materi dan leaflet berdasarkan hasil pengamatan dan kajian literatur, serta sosialisasi kepada 20 anggota PKK melalui pemaparan interaktif, pengenalan bahan, diskusi, dan tanya jawab. Hasil pengamatan digunakan sebagai dasar pemilihan materi edukasi mengenai tanaman aromatik, minyak atsiri, perbedaan bentuk bahan, keterbatasan efektivitas, keamanan penggunaan, serta peluang pemanfaatan bahan lokal. Kegiatan menghasilkan leaflet edukasi dan terlaksananya diseminasi informasi kepada peserta. Peserta terlibat dalam diskusi dengan menyampaikan pengalaman mengenai tanaman dan pemanfaatannya di tingkat rumah tangga. Kegiatan ini menunjukkan terlaksananya edukasi berbasis potensi lokal.
